New to Church…
Turning up to church for the first time can sometimes seem a daunting prospect, but we want you to feel welcome and relaxed at SLC, so here’s some answers to some frequently asked questions
No, you do not have to dress in any particular style to come to SLC. Just be comfortable!
See our Kid’s Church section for details
Don’t worry! We are a family church and we don’t mind noise! You are welcome to keep your baby with you in the service, or if you would benefit from some space to settle them then we have a room available, which is also suitable for nursing mothers.
This room is equipped with a video and audio link, so you will not miss out on what is going on in main hall.
We have limited on-site parking to the front of our building, as well as plenty of local on-street parking. We ask that you park courteously, not near junctions or blocking resident access.
Yes, there is a ramp to access the building and disabled toilet facilities. We also have a loop system installed for those who are hard of hearing and have the appropriate function available on their hearing aids.
Our Coffee Bar opens at 10:45am, and then again after Sunday Celebration.
The countdown on the screen lets people know when we are about to start, and we usually begin with some lively and enthusiastic praise and worship. The words appear on the large screen at the front so don’t worry if you don’t know the songs!
We have our latest notices and news, and then a 20-30 minute, life-applicable, relevant teaching. Everything is wrapped up at the end with one last song, and a chance for people to give into the work of SLC through our weekly offering (but don’t worry, there’s no pressure on you to give), and then there is plenty of time available afterwards to socialise with friends whilst enjoying a tea or coffee.
